Our team grows in numbers and organization. Our robot, Operation Scorpion, is capable of speed runs around the track, herding, and hurdling based on the needs of our alliance. We finish 3-5-0 in the Milwaukee regional.

Our robot is able to pick up tubes and place them on any level of the rack. In the Milwaukee regional, we finished 3-4-1 in qualifications. We were thrilled to be the very last team chosen for elimination, drafted by Robot Casserole and New Apple Corps. in large part to our ability to score on the top rack.

Our alliance went 2-2-0 in eliminations, advancing to the semifinals.

2006

Our team was small and relatively inexperienced, but we were able to build a robot that ended 5-7-0 in qualifications. Though we were not drafted, we learned a lot that helped us in later years, and we all had a great experience.

1999

A separate robot club is spun off from the science club and the robot club as it is known now is started. Students from all over Iowa City are invited to become a member of the Iowa City team (City, West, Regina). The City High mentor both of those years is Gary Garton, a science teacher at City, who has since retired.
